The Junior League of Portland is proud to present a Service Learning Opportunity to increase awareness and connect to community resources regarding Human Trafficking and Exploitation in Maine.
Join Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine (SARSSM), Preble Street Anti-Trafficking Services and the Cumberland County Children’s Advocacy Center for a panel centered on understanding the facts and prevalence of exploitation and human trafficking and how to support survivors and connect to community resources.
In conjunction with this free event we are conducting a donation drive to provide clothing to survivors leaving a hospital setting after having an exam during which they were also required to surrender their clothing. Donations of socks, underwear, sweatpants and sweatshirts will be accepted at the JLP office (lower level of One City Center, Portland) until June 6, 2021. All ages (teens - adults) and sizes are needed with an emphasis on extended sizes.
